We established in 2005 with the aim of helping those in need by strengthening and supporting our local communities.
Whether you are a small voluntary or community group helping local people or an individual or organisation who wants to make a difference to your local community - we can help.
We work with local community and voluntary groups that support the most vulnerable, isolated and disadvantaged people in our county. Our aim is to inspire local people who want to support their local communities to build permanent funds that will make a real impact on people’s lives.
We award grants to local charities, community and voluntary groups at a grassroots level that help those living in areas of acute need and surprising levels of deprivation. The range of grants awarded has supported projects across the width of community need including facilities for young people, sports equipment, reducing isolation for older citizens, improving community facilities and projects for the disabled. We also award small grants to individuals with a disability to overcome barriers to work.
The Community Foundation for Surrey is an independent charitable trust. We are part of a national network of UK Community Foundations, a growing philanthropic movement in the United Kingdom.
