Welcome!

The Horsleys Community Fund (HCF), established in March 2010, is a significant and exciting local initiative that creates a charitable fund specifically for the benefit of the Horsleys and its residents.

The Horsleys Community Fund will consist of the following:

A Permanent ‘Invested’ Community Fund - the capital is invested by the Community Foundation for Surrey and the income generated each year is used to award grants to support community projects and activities which meet the Horsleys' fund criteria. The fund will be built from a number of donations from local residents and organisations.
An ‘Immediate Impact’ Fund - The fund builds from a number of donations and the total value of the donations, less the costs of managing the fund is distributed as grants over a period of time.

The Fund will build over time from donations and legacies, fundraising and capital growth

The HCF has been set-up in partnership with the Community Foundation for Surrey. By working together we aim to offer a fund that enables and encourages local giving so that as a village we can develop a greater capacity to respond to local issues.

The Purpose of the Horsleys Community Fund:

The HCF is a Permanent Fund that people who love the Horsleys can either donate to now, or leave a legacy to in the future.
The long term objective is to build a capital fund of at least £250,000 that will be available in perpetuity to help make a significant contribution to meeting the charitable needs of our village.
It will encourage the efforts of the many existing village groups, by offering a fund that can make grants to help meet local needs. It will not compete with them.

What the HCF can offer:

An HCF Fund Panel consisting of representatives from the community will be able to make grants out of the income from the HCF Permanent Fund to support people, projects and activities within our community that meet the Fund criteria.

The Fund will support:

Voluntary groups, charities, individuals, community services and environmental projects
Grants will fund both existing services or facilities and new initiatives and can contribute to either capital costs such as funding new equipment or support on-going running costs.

Specific criteria each year will reflect current needs within the area of benefit and will be set and agreed by the HCF Fund Panel and the Community Foundation for Surrey.The criteria can be varied and grant awards to specific projects or organisations can be nominated by the HCF Fund Panel, in agreement with the Community Foundation for Surrey at any time in the future. For example, to add a further area of special concern or to change a priority.
