Grassroots Programme

Community Foundation for Surrey is celebrating its successful bid to deliver the Grassroots Programme in Surrey. The Grassroots Programme is managed by the Community Development Foundation and funded by the Office of the Third Sector (OTS).
£1 million will be available in Surrey (over 3 years) for grants and a further £1 million available by way of an endowment match-challenge, ie. over the next 3 years, for every £2 donated into permanent invested funds within the Community Foundation, £1 will be donated from the OTS. This will potentially increase the permanent invested funds by £3 million, with the income generated providing support to Surrey's grassroots organisations in perpetuity.
Professor Patrick Dowling, Chair, Community Foundation for Surrey said 'we are absolutely delighted to have secured the Grassroots Programme for Surrey. I would urge all small groups and organisations working in Surrey, with a turnover of £20k or less, to contact us for further details on how to apply for a grant. At the same time, I would also like to urge individuals, families and businesses, who want to give something back locally, to consider using this scheme, as there have never been a better or more cost effective way to give, using this 2:1 challenge'.
