News Flash Grassroots Grants
Please note that the Grassroots Grants programme is now open to community groups with an annual income of less than £30,000.
This announcement was made earlier this week by the Office of the Third Sector, responsible for funding the programme. In Surrey, £1 million has been awarded to the Community Foundation for Surrey, from which to make grants of up to £5,000; this will now be available to voluntary and community groups across Surrey with an annual income below £30,000.
(Previously, the grant programme was only open to groups with an annual income below £20,000)
£321,000 has been awarded so far from the Grassroots Grants programme to 91 community groups in Surrey. We are delighted with the excellent projects which Grassroots Grants have been able to support so far, but we are very keen to encourage applications from a variety of other small voluntary groups across the county. If your community or voluntary group has an annual income below £30,000 (taken as an average over the last three financial years), please contact us to find out more.
Grassroots Grants is a three year national programme. Applications can be made at any time until January 2011. There is a monthly deadline of the last Friday of each month and decisions will be notified within 3 weeks of the deadline date, unless additional information is requested.
