Who We Support
Epsom & Ewell
InterGen, Epsom
"It's fantastic to have our own laptops so that we can practice on them between classes. We hope other community groups will benefit from them too."
InterGen, Epsom wanted to run computer courses for elderly people in the area, enabling them to learn new skills, gain confidence and make new friends. However, with only the temporary loan of some laptops the group was unable to continue without funding.
Their £3,993 Comic Relief grant has enabled them to purchase 13 laptops which means their group can now run independently and develop their courses. Over time they are hoping to use course participants as mentors for beginners groups and also share their equipment with other community groups such as a homework club for children and young people who do not have access to a computer at home.
