Who We Support
Runnymede
White Lodge Centre, Chertsey
White Lodge Centre in Chertsey has worked with disabled children, adults, their families and/or carers for over 45 years, providing an individually tailored service to meet their needs. The charity currently operates throughout Surrey and also into Hampshire and Berkshire, and aims to provide high quality services that improve an individual's physical, social and emotional well-being.
Through the Kaye Family Fund we were able to provide £4,295 towards the costs of running their Little Stars parent/toddler group for disabled babies and young children. The group was set up in response to feedback from parents who had left other parent/toddler groups having become uncomfortable with the constant questions about their child's development or behaviour. This left these children unable to access the same opportunities as their peers, when they needed them more. Some 74 families benefit from the group which meets every Tuesday during term-times. Activities are specifically designed to help each baby and child grow and develop at their own pace. The group provides emotional support to parents, and is hugely enjoyed by all the children who attend.
