Meet our donors
We have 45 different named funds with a variety of donors giving to a huge variety of causes and needs. We would like to thank them all for their generosity; their giving makes a big impact on our local communities. Find out more about some of the donors we work with:
Allianz Insurance plc

Richard Foulerton and Valerie Robinson of Allianz with the Surrey Wildlife Trust at the opening of a new fishing platform for the disabled at Whitmoor Common.
"Allianz established a Community Fund with the Community Foundation for Surrey in 2006 to support community and voluntary projects in Guildford, Woking and surrounding areas. As a result of the success of the initiative, we decided to extend the fund's reach and, in January 2008, we launched a new national fund to cover a further 15 areas, encompassing all the locations of our UK offices.
Working with the Community Foundation has helped us manage our charitable giving. They co-ordinated the fund and divided it between the Community Foundations across the UK, while we assigned responsibility for awarding grants to committees in each local Allianz office. By establishing our criteria with the Community Foundations at the outset, we have been able to support projects that specifically address our chosen themes; which are:
- Reducing the impact of crime
- Developing confidence and new skills
- Removing barriers for people with disabilities
- Supporting older people
- Protecting the environment
Since 2008 we have been able to support 84 community and voluntary groups across the UK, benefiting people of all ages and abilities."

Birtley House Fund

The Whalley Family who own and manage Birtley House.
"As owners of probably the oldest family-run care home in the world we were looking for ways of developing an interactive route to charitable giving that could link the residents of the home to worthwhile, local charities. It is important for their quality of life that our residents feel involved with the community and it was just this aspect that first excited us about the work, then in its infancy, of the Surrey Community Foundation in 2006. When we discovered that Surrey was one of the last counties to embark on this work we felt that we had to do our best to encourage the development of the Foundation and soon found that our residents were very much in agreement. Although our Fund is not large it has managed to support the work of several local charities (all approved in advance by our residents) and has continued to raise funds each year to support their on-going work or specific projects. That we have made enduring friendships with some of the beneficiaries is a huge additional bonus for everyone at Birtley House."
